At Siddha wellness clinic it is all about reclaiming lost calm, and reconnecting with a quieter, calmer way of life.

Urovasthi Like kativasthi, here too vasti means to contain or retain something. Whereas, Uro stands for chest. In essence, this is a chest oil bath treatment. Specially prepared warm medicated oil is placed on the chest which is why this procedure is also called Hrid vasthi where Hrid signifies the heart. The heart is one of the three major vital marma points of the body according to Ayurveda. Urovasthi is an effective treatment for asthma, heart diseases, muscular chest pain and other respiratory problems.

Shirovasthy An elongated special cap is fitted on head of the patient. Warm medicated oils are then poured into this cap and sits soaking into the scalp for a period of time during whichit transfers its goodness onto the patient’s head. This treatment is ideal for insomnia, facial paralysis, numbness in head, dryness of nostrils & throat, headaches, memory ailmentsetc. This is a particularly soothing remedy for anyone suffering insomnia. Let the Ayurvedic oils heal your soul. Shivovasthy is also called Thalam in Malayalam.

Aqua Yoga This is a type of yoga in which the asanas are practiced in water. This can be a warm pool, or in an open source like a pond or the sea. Lepanam Lepanam is the use of medicated herbal paste on affected parts of the body to treat various ailments like gout, arthritis and skin diseases. This is particularly effective in treating skin diseases. Medicated herbal paste is prepared with clarified butter and milk before it is applied on the patient. Lepanam massage acts as a body scrub which in turn smoothed and nourishes the skin, aids healthy blood circulation and relieve aches. Meditation Meditation is the act of reflecting, pondering or contemplating, according to the English dictionary. However, Yoga takes it a step further by adding mindfulness to it. And this mindfulness is practiced in the form of universal love – with the awareness that every living organism is interconnected. In Yoga Sutra, Patanjali explains beautifully - meditation begins when we discover that our never-ending quest to possess things and our continual craving for pleasure and security can never be satisfied. When we finally realize this, our external quest turns inward, and we have shifted into the realm of meditation.

Mukhlepanam Mukhalepanam has been used as a beauty treatmentfor centuries in India. Traditional herbs are mixed to create a therapeutic pase which is then applied to the face. Mukha, as the word signifies, is the face. And lepa is best translated as coat or plaster. Mukhalepanam is best used to cleanse, exfoliate, tone and hydrate the face and is extremely effective for treating wrinkles, cellulitis, blackheads etc.

Shat Kriya The Shat Kriyas are a set intense detox and cleansing rituals for the body. Net? is a nasal wash practiced using a neti pot to cleanse the nasal passages. A basic neti wash consists of purified water along with non-iodized salt. Dhaut? focuses on the digestive tract. Naul? is a self-administered abdominal massage, using the muscles of the abdomen. Shat Kriya focuses on each specific region of the body, the skull, the lungs, nerves, chakras and eyes.

Vasti Otherwise known as medicated enema, Vasthi is a therapeutic procedure in which specific herbal oils and herbal extracts are applied through the anal and vaginal cavity to detoxify the body. This treatment is effective for arthritis, paralysis, hemiplegia, numbness, gastric complaints, rheumatism and chronic constipation. Vasti treatment is often considered the most effective Ayurvedic Panchakarma treatment. It is even effective in cases of chronic fever, sexual disorders, kidney stones, vomiting and acidity. In short, Vasti can treat more than 80 ailment related to the vata dosha.

Pranayam Therapy "Prana" meansbreath (the vital energy in the body), and "ayama" translates to control. Pranayama thus is practice of controlling the breath. Control of the rhythms of pranic energy can help boost immunity and increase vitality. In the ancient Yoga Sutra, Patanjali explains how pranayama is a means to attain a higher states of awareness.

A masseur on either side applying essential oils infused with dosha herbs on your head. The purpose is to gentlymassageto nourish your dhatus and balance the elements of your body. Abhyangam has been found very effective for removing stress, improving eyesight, immunity, longevity, sleep, rheumatism and vitality. It is u to rejuvenate and stimulate your senses.

Chinese Acupressure Acupressure is one of China’s best gifts to the world of medicine and healing. This ancient technique combines acupuncture and principles of pressure application to trigger well-being. It is an ancient practice which uses fingers, knuckle or other objects to create pressure on strategic pressure points called meridians. Just as Acupuncture uses needles on these meridians. Acupressure improves the flow of pranaor Qi and increases vitality and health.

According to the herbal components used kizhi can be classified as PodiKizhi which uses dry powdered herbs; ElaKizhithat which uses raw herbs like leaves and roots; NavaraKizhi which uses special Navara Rice; and ManalKizhi which uses sand particles.

Deep Tissue Massage Mainly used to treat muscutoskeletal issues such as strains and other sports injuries, it involves applying sustained pressure using slow deep strokes to target the inner layers of your muscles and connecting tissues. This helps to break up scar tissue that forms following an injury and reduce tension in muscle and tissue.It may also promote faster healing by increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation. Deep tissue massage is best suited for people who engage in highly physical activities, such as running, or those who have an injury or chronic pain.

Dry Massage Performed using deep compressing, rhythmic pressing and stretching, this therapy involves no liquid substance such as oils, or lotions. The vibrations generated through this massage improves blood circulation.Ayurvedic dry-brushing, called garshana (pronounced gar-shun-uh), promotes lymphatic cleansing and is a powerful way to support the removal of ama (cellular waste products) from the body.

Udwartanam Also known as powder massage, Udwartanamis effective for treatingmetabolic and lifestyle disorders like obesity. In this procedure, special herbal powders are applied in a particular way on the body. Urdhawa means upwards and varthanam signifies movement. This upward movement, (that is in the opposite direction of the growth of body hair) is central to this massage therapy which could also use oils depending on the patient’s physical composition.

Nasyam This is a panchakarma treatment in which herbal juices or oils are dripped into nostrils. It is particularly effective for treating headaches, sinusitis, and migraine. The healing oils and powders used in this process stimulate important centres of the brain that control emotions which is why Nasyam is frequently usedto reducestress.

Kativasthi Kati signifies lower back or waist and Vasti means to contain or retain. Thus, Kativasti is a therapy to heal the lower back. Kativasthi is an Ayurvedic rejuvenation therapy that uses herbal decoctions and medicated oils specially prepared for this therapy. The oil is then kept over the lower back along with herbal pastes mostly prepared using black gram flour or whole wheat flour and water. This treatment is good for anyone suffering from vata dosha, chronic pains, and joint problems.
